Local leaders, legislators and community members came together Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Catalyst Center for Business in Perryville to discuss child care challenges and potential solutions impacting families and employers in the Perry County region.
The event was hosted by the Perry County Economic Development Authority in partnership with Kids Win Missouri, a statewide child advocacy organization dedicated to improving policies that support children and families.
The discussion underscored the vital role of child care in strengthening local economies, supporting working parents and ensuring young children have a strong start. Participants examined the current child care landscape in southeast Missouri, including workforce shortages, affordability barriers and the need for sustainable solutions that meet both family and business needs.
