Grandview facility serves healthcare workers, first responders struggling with childcare schedules

GRANDVIEW, Mo. (KCTV) – At 2 a.m., while most of Kansas City sleeps, Kemontay Smith is getting ready to drop off her child at daycare.

The new 24-hour Forever Care Montessori Academy in Grandview is the first of its kind in the area, serving as a game-changer for healthcare workers, first responders, and shift workers who have struggled to find childcare that matches their schedules.

Smith said she works early mornings, and before this facility opened, she faced an impossible choice between her job and staying home with her child.

“Early mornings, late nights. My schedule has changed multiple times,” Smith said.
